Based in both London and Wigan, Lancashire, our drama training covers TV & film acting for camera from week 1 to the end of your training.

  • You will also study movement, voice, acting technique, text, stage combat, TV presenting, radio and other drama elements required to work as a professional actor.

Many successful actors trained at ALRA and now have careers from stand up to film and stage. Our drama training includes Postgraduate acting courses, Foundation courses in acting, BA in acting with honour degree and MA acting course and some funded places are available to applicants through the Dance and Drama Award scheme.

Acting Courses

At ALRA, we apply the same professional standard to all our courses to ensure they are fit for purpose and more importantly to ensure that when you have completed your course you have the skills and ability to move to the next level or to enter the profession.   • Three Year Acting BA (Hons)

    The BA Hons Acting (Three Year) is a programme of study that is suitable for those determined to become professional actors.

  • Three Year Acting Diploma Level 6

    The Acting Diploma, Level 6 (Three Year), is a programme that is suitable for anyone aspiring to become a professional actor.

  • MA Professional Acting

    ALRA’s Acting MA (15 months) is a full time Actor training programme that focuses on the skills and techniques needed for professional acting today.

  • 15 Month Diploma in Acting

    The 15 month acting diploma encourages you to view your practice as continual self- development.

  • Applied Creative Movement Advanced Diploma

    This vocational course offers a small cohort of movement practitioners (no more than 4) the opportunity to develop skills in facilitating and creating projects.

  • Foundation Acting Course (Part-Time)

    The Foundation Acting Course (Part-Time) focuses on the basics of acting, voice and movement.

  • Foundation Acting Course (Full-Time)

    Our Foundation Diploma in Acting course gives students a real insight into conservatoire actor training and preparation for working in the industry.
 

Stage Management and Technical Theatre

This is a full-time, two year course to equip students with the necessary skills to gain employment in the theatre industry.

  • Stage Management & Technical Theatre

    Our SMTT course offers a thorough vocational training for those who wish to work in theatre stage management and technical theatre production.
