Stage & the City showcase Mulberry Theatre in Bow

Stage & the City marks 6th Anniversary with spectacular Charity Showcase

After being postponed due to the pandemic, Stage & City’s students present a fundraising variety showcase to raise money for children with or affected by cancer.

Stage & the City is thrilled to announce an exciting lineup of song and dance numbers to be performed by students in its Charity Showcase. The show will take place at 7pm on 4th December 2021at the Mulberry Theatre in Bow. This is a fundraising event for the Fiorentini Foundation with all proceeds going towards providing scholarships for children with or affected by cancer to attend the Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School.

Last year’s 5th Anniversary celebrations were postponed due to lockdown restrictions but now Stage & the City’s adult students will be able to welcome back audiences. The performers are made up of individuals who have day jobs and careers elsewhere but attend Stage & the City classes for fun, to develop new skills and to get opportunities to perform.

All proceeds from this Charity Showcase will go to the Fiorentini Foundation’s Henry Cummings Fund which provides scholarships for children with or affected by cancer who want to attend the Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School for much needed fun and respite.

Anna Fiorentini, founder and principal of Stage & the City said -

“We are so thrilled to be able to host this Charity Showcase and fundraise for the Fiorentini Foundation. Having a creative outlet and a place to have fun can be invaluable for children with or affected by cancer. And not only are we raising money for a good cause, we are celebrating Stage & the City getting back on its feet after a difficult couple of years. The students and teachers have worked so hard to make something really special for audiences. The show is sure to be a treat for all of us who have been craving live theatre after so many months! It’s a fantastic opportunity to have a night full of entertainment and give back to their local community”

Since opening six years ago, Stage & the City has provided a range of after-work performing arts courses for adults across London. Students can learn news skills for personal or professional development whilst improving their social wellbeing in the process. All profits from these courses, or any performances, go to the Fiorentini Foundation, the charitable arm of the Anna Fiorentini Theatre & Film School. The Foundation provides bursaries for less privileged children that wish to access the performing arts and increase in confidence and self-esteem.

Stage & the City has a new term beginning in January with classes in dance, musical theatre, and acting. There is currently an Early Bird discount on many of the courses. To find out more visit:
