There are Drama Schools and there are Drama Schools, and then there is Blag. Blag Youth Theatre in Rickmansworth wowed their audiences with their original writing and unique revue style show ‘Welcome to the Sixties.’ The Show which the group of 14 -16 year old devised themselves included lots of exciting facts about the sixties, some of the high lights of the show included the first British Concorde flight, the first ever soap opera, how the advertising agency came up with the slogan’ Snap Crackle and Pop plus songs and sketches of the sixties two from Monty Python, a great audience participation moment when they re enacted the shower scene from Psycho and a translation of Bill and Ben. On a more serious note the group also performed a piece that highlighted the disaster in Aberfan in the sixties. This show was a wonderful example of the talented youth of today and how drama builds these young people into confident adults.
