Drama Schools with workshops for all.

SUMMER LOVIN’… DRAMA IS THE WORD!   Drama schools all over the UK are hoping to entice children to participate in their Summer Drama Workshops by exploring such shows as Hairspray, Grease, and Mary Poppins, to name just three. Whether it’s performing or backstage that your child is interested in, there really is something for everyone.   The summer holidays are the perfect time for parents to find new exciting activities for their offspring, giving children a chance to try out new pursuits and explore their creativity.  It means peace of mind for busy working mums knowing that their children are having hours of fun in a safe and stimulating environment.   Drama Workshops are an excellent way for children to make new friends whilst working with a team of professionals on honing such skills as listening, reacting, interacting and improvisation…. as well as having a ball! There are hundreds of Drama schools all over England, Scotland and Ireland, with many running workshops during the summer holidays, from just a few hours in one day to some extending over 1 or 2 weeks.    Basement Theatre in Warwick has a magical week in Never-Never Land for children aged 7 - 12 years, whilst The West End Stage - Summer School are having a week-long theatre training programme for 8 - 21 year olds,  held at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama.  During the week, students will be introduced to a wide range of performing arts’ disciplines, from acting, singing and movement, to mime, circus skills and even stage combat!    If you live in Epsom, Stagecoach Theatre Arts are performing ‘A Week At The Movies’ and they will be working on pieces from “Mamma Mia”, “Mary Poppins”, “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” and “Hannah Montana”.    On the south coast, at Razzamatazz Little Hampton, children will be enjoying ‘Musical Theatre’ as well as ‘Commercial Pop’ projects and gaining experience in contemporary dance, hip hop and street dance styles.    Back in Hertfordshire, Blag Youth Theatre offer a full, 2-week programme with an original script written specifically for them.  With speaking parts for all, it will culminate with two performances at The Elgiva Theatre, Chesham.   These are just a few examples of what is on offer this summer for your children.  For more information on these workshops and to find one in your local area, please visit our workshop page.
