ROBOSTAR CBBC A bold new challenge-based series that gives CBBC viewers the chance to control a celebrity for a day! What would you do if you had complete control of a celebrity for a whole day? That’s the dream scenario we’re offering CBBC viewers in a riotous, new factual entertainment series that turns stars into robots. In each episode of Robostar, three best friends take total control of a celebrity, and must guide them through a series of top secret…hilarious…and embarrassing challenges. Every time they pass a challenge they’ll win a prize. Just imagine…David Tennant being ordered by earpiece to tickle a traffic warden…Rachel Stevens asking the geekiest guys out for dates as her animatronic baby starts to cry…Jeremy Clarkson being ordered to ride a bicycle and denounce cars- none of the celebs have any control over what they’re doing, because the kids are in charge! The public have no idea that the celebrity must obey the kids’ every command. At Robostar HQ, our presenters make the challenges harder and harder, as we unleash our Robostars into the real world and onto the unsuspecting public. There will be mess…twists…confusion…and lots of laughs. Robostar’s appeal is based on children’s love of practical jokes and game playing, plus it taps into the universal fascination with celebrity. It’s a highly returnable format. The Presenters: JK & Joel A cheeky gameshow calls for a cheeky double act and who better than jokers Jason King and Joel Ross. Dynamic, daring and funny, the boys are well on their way to establishing themselves as major talent. As the presenters of our taster-tape, they’re well on board. Robostar HQ JK and Joel run the show from Robostar HQ, a secret mission control warehouse kitted out with all kinds of hi-tech gadgetry. From here the kids control their Robostars through microphones and other kit, and a bank of video screens covering all angles of the action. The Kids Are Central The kids are central to the show – so in many scenes, one of the team will be posted out to where the action is, to take part in the scene. As secret extras, they’ll also be in contact with HQ using hi-tech spy equipment and can affect the action to keep the variety broad. The Robostars Our Robostars are all celebrities well known and loved by CBBC viewers and they hold a special place in the hearts of the contestants we pair them with. For our CBBC viewer contestants, it’s the chance to meet their hero.
