TARGET (Theatre Arts: Get Involved, www.target-arts.org) is delighted to announce its latest venture. TARGET will be running a workshop from 25-30th October 2010. Open to aspiring performers aged 14-19, the Academy will be running a workshop on audition technique. The workshop will comprise singing and drama master classes, movement workshops, improvisation, trust and teambuilding exercises. Participants will be put through their paces and will develop their ability to answer interview questions. Furthermore, guidance will be offered to participants on choosing audition pieces to make the maximum impact. We aim to arm participants with all the tools to successfully navigate the minefield of professional auditions. Finally, after five days of intensive training, students will have the opportunity to work with one of the country's foremost casting directors with the possibility of securing professional representation and future work. Initiative director Emma Rowland said “this is a fantastic coup for TARGET. We aim to bring industry leaders to South Wales to make the arts more accessible, and in Robert Earnshaw we have one of the pioneers of new casting techniques, and one of the country’s most well-respected casting directors. I am really looking forward to this unique and exciting opportunity that could change the lives and aspirations of our talented young people.
