Newbury Principal wins Business Mum of the Year Award

WOMEN’S BUSINESS AWARDS

The Women’s Business Awards 2024 has concluded its landmark celebration, unveiling the extraordinary women and businesses who triumphed in this year’s prestigious awards. With 300 finalists from 92 countries competing across 21 categories, the event showcased the best of global talent, innovation, and leadership. Last night, the annual awards ceremony took place online to celebrate the best businesswomen from across the United Kingdom.

The ceremony, held online and streamed in front of a live studio audience from Cheltenham, UK, brought together inspiring leaders, innovators, and changemakers. The event celebrated the resilience, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit that drive progress in business worldwide.

Mandy Rees from Mother of Life was the sponsor in the category of Business Mum of the Year, and Debbi Ledwith was selected from an impressive pool of nominees for their dedication, creativity, and outstanding impact in their field.

Debbi is the Principal of Razzamataz Theatre School in Newbury which has been thriving since its launch in 2015. She has been a hugely important part of the Razzamataz network, selflessly giving her time and knowledge to share with other Principals while growing her school and raising her three children, all of whom train at the school. Debbi says, “I just couldn’t believe it when I heard my name called out as the winner of this award! The category was really close to my heart as I have worked hard to achieve a good work-life balance to enable me to spend quality time with my children. I’m so proud of them and the fact that they also train at the school – it’s a real family business!”

Founder and CEO of Women’s Business Club, Angela De Souza says, "There is nothing quite like celebrating the accomplishments of our businesswomen. This year, we received some truly outstanding entries, making the judges' decisions incredibly challenging. While only one woman could win in each category, we believe that every entrant is a winner. Each woman stands tall, remains determined to succeed, and carries hope for the future - a true winning attitude. I am immensely proud of all the remarkable individuals in business who continue to strive for excellence and inspire those around them."

The Women’s Business Awards celebrates and supports women in business, providing a platform to amplify their voices and inspire future generations of leaders.
