Sheffield children rewarded for outstanding achievements!

Razzamataz Theatre Schools Sheffield, recently held their end of year award ceremony to celebrate student successes throughout the past year and raise money for their Future Fund charity through a raffle and refreshments.
The theatre school presented awards to their students aged 2 to 18 with best achievements in each subject (dance, drama and singing) and all students received a certificate of achievement. Finally they presented their Rebecca Rennie Student of the Year Award.

“When we were choosing our Student of the Year we weren’t only looking for a student with a talent for all three subjects but a passion for the Performing Arts, a commitment to Razzamataz and an enthusiasm for learning week on week” said Helen Bell, Principal of Razzamataz Sheffield. “The decision made by my team was unanimous and we are delighted to present this year’s Rebecca Rennie Student of the Year award to Joe Downs!”

Joe, aged 17, has been at Razzamataz for over 5 years and was thrilled when presented with the award. "Winning student of the year is an honour. Razzamataz has helped me develop my skills in all areas and given me more confidence to pursue my dream of going to drama school and my ultimate goal of being on the West End"

The Razzamataz awards is a great opportunity to recognise the many individuals that shine every week at Razzamataz, particularly those who have grown in confidence during the short time they have been attending. Florence Cockerham joined Razzamataz early this year and her Mum said: “Once again I find myself having to email you and congratulate you all on a fantastic end of term awards. All the staff really amaze me, so professional, friendly and committed. It still astounds me you all know every child's name! I have said previously how much Florence has grown as a person and in confidence since coming to Razz but last night you gave her the biggest boost. She was beaming all night after receiving the award and still has a spring in her step today. It was certainly the right decision to bring her to Razz to help her pursue her passion of performing.”

Razzamataz were also delighted to raise over £500 from their raffle and refreshments to go towards their Future Fund charity. The Future Fund is Razzamataz Theatre School’s registered charity providing funding for students wishing to pursue further training in the Performing Arts with a view to a career n the industry.
