Welcome to Theatretrain Performing arts school in Rugby where we offer professional theatre training for children.
Theatretrain Rugby is more than a drama club!
Theatretrain Rugby offers professional theatre training for 6-18 year olds in a way that is both fun and effective. More than a drama club, a dance school or a singing group, our performing arts classes give children and young people a place to explore the world and create performances.
This process gives them life skills that will help them whether they want a career in the performing arts or the confidence to thrive in the real world. All the world’s a stage after all!
Theatretrain Rugby Weekly Classes
- Our theatre classes take place at Ashlawn Sixth Form School, Rugby.
In the Main school the three hour session has an hour each of acting, dancing and singing. So all performers learn the three disciplines and have a lot of fun along the way. Find the session for your age group below.
Dance
It’s more than steps! We teach the technique of movement in a variety of styles. Dancers learn to engage their thinking and feeling.
It’s more than making up scenes. Our performers learn to create characters, develop situations and use atmosphere and focus to make it happen NOW.
Sing
It’s more than singing a song together. Our performers learn to bring feelings to give to their audience and how to tell the story.

MINIS ENSEMBLE for 4-5 year olds
Based at the same location as the Main School from 10 until 11:30am, your young performer will participate in all three disciplines and learn the basic skills of storytelling, imagination and stagecraft. And have lots of fun too!

Theatretrain Rugby Classes
At Theatretrain Rugby we run weekly sessions at Ashlawn Sixth Form School, Rugby which include dance, singing and acting classes.
Main School
Ashlawn Sixth Form School, Ashlawn Road, Hillmorton, Rugby, Warwickshire, CV22 5ET
6-18 year olds
- Saturdays, 10am - 1pm
£25 per session
Usually our biggest class where students come together in their age groups to learn ensemble songs, work on their acting skills and dance their socks off!
Classes are divided into the following age groups: 6-9 year olds, 9-12 year olds, and 13-18 year olds. These classes become rehearsals for performances in the second part of the year.
All students have the chance to perform every year.

Minis Ensemble

In this 90-minute session, your young performer will participate in all three disciplines and learn the basic skills of storytelling, imagination and stagecraft.
