The Rights of the Child - Music Video in Bethnal Green, Bow

Students at Young and Talented school of Stage and Screen have been awarded by the Youth Opportunity Fund in Tower Hamlets to create a music video to promote the Rights of the Child. The film will be their way of communicating that every child must be allowed to enjoy their childhood.

The teens at this award winning theatre school will compose a song and then script their ideas for the music video. Working with filmmaker Winstan Whitter they will film and edit their creative work then launch it on You Tube.

Rebecca Gray (19) who wrote the application said "We want to explore and explain respecting and protecting children so that they know what their rights are."

10 students will also be completing their Arts Awards druing this project. The project will give them skills in how to make films. Rebecca went on to say "Everyone at Y&T learns how to act, sing and dance on stage but now we'll get to see how these things work for film. Watching ourselves will build confidence because we'll learn about how we come across to people. Also we’ll learn how to use the equipment. This will be good to raise the confidence of those who don’t feel as confident acting but would be good being creative with the camera and sound equipment."

The new term at Y&T starts on Saturday 11th January 2014. There are a few places let on this course so email to join.

The music video will be published to You Tube Channel in February 2014
